Hi Heidi,

I'd like to start something like what Rainy Sue was doing, because it really

worked for me. It inspired me, to be able to report a loss for the week to

my friends. This month is going to be crazy for me because I've just

started classes, and I have two trips, as well as my regular workload. So,

my dieting will be hit and miss. I also don't want to try to lose weight

for 3 or 4 days prior to my infusion, because I want my blood work to be the

best it can be. I only say this so everyone knows my results losses will

probably be minimal this month. But I would be happy to keep a spreadsheet

with the group's stats. How about we report on Tuesdays? Not our weight,

of course, but our loss if we have one. Also, it would be great if people

post favorite diet tips, recipes, low cal foods, etc. Nobody minds that

traffic going through the group, right?

Anyone who wants to participate, let me know and I'll add your name to the

spreadsheet. The more the merrier everyone, and there's no pressure. It's

not weight loss per say, as much as choosing a healthy way of eating,

combined with whatever exercise we can tolerate. We certainly don't want to

do anything severe that will tax our already fragile systems.

Let's do it!

Much love to all,

Carol

Hi Carol,

Thank you so much again for letting us know how Debs is doing, gosh what a

nightmare. I'm a bit skeptical about her Dr. Bones to be honest, it just

doesn't seem like she is getting the treatment she deserves, doesn't he know

our Debs is a VIP! I'm so worried about her, please send her my love and a

huge hug if you talk to her.

You really should try the snorkelling, I'm sure you'll love it! It's a good

idea to wear a T-Shirt though and maybe even some men's swimming shorts as

you can get really burnt, plus lot's of sunscreen on the exposed bits. We

don't want you cooked as a crayfish :-)

Ooowww, sorry about your tooth, I hate going to the dentist. I've got an

appointment some time (forget if it's this month or next!!! Denial!) it's

just a check up but I'm dreading it, what a baby hey! LOL!

It's great that you are already seeing improvements from the Remicade, I

hope you've finally managed to shake off that infection.

I'm with you on the diet thing! Need to do something if I'm going to start

smoking. Are we going to start the same thing Rainy Sue had us on in March?

How is she by the way, I wonder if anyone hears from her, she's so great,

I hope she's just too busy and enjoying life too much to post right now.

I hope you are feeling better today!

Sending you prayers and hugs,

Heidi

Carol,

Thank you for all you are doing. Weight is very important in managing

arthritis to keep the stress off of our joints. I¹m amazed at how much

difference just the 20lbs I lost makes on my joints. It is well worth the

effort. Maybe you should put me on that list too. I just want to loose 10

more lbs but I¹ve been stuck for the last 3 months and can¹t loose a pound!

Hi a,

I’ve added you to the list. I agree that weight loss is important for our

joints, as well as for our self esteem. My weight loss goal is 17 lbs,

which doesn’t feel insurmountable. Your ten pounds should be a snap, but I’

ve read the last 10 lbs are the hardest to get off. You’ll get there

though. Your healthy diet is wonderful, and you can’t help but lose it

eventually.

Much love,

Carol

What if I need to gain? Or am I excluded. Is this just to loose? Because

I think it is all the same... causes about the same problems. I know

that with High BP, overweight is not good...same if you are underweight.

It causes the same problems with BP and heart.

Hi Susie,

You’re welcome to join! You’ll just post a + rather than a – number each

week. I’ll put you on the list.

Love and hugs,

Hi Kathy,

Every Tuesday people will report with their gain or loss for the week, and I

'm keeping a spreadsheet (which I'm adding your name to). I'll report the

stats weekly, so we know where we are as a group. It would be nice if

people would also let me know their weight loss goal. Mine is 17 lbs.

Love and hugs,

Carol

Hi Al,

Yes, you should! If nothing else, it will help you keep track of your

weight. Just email me each Tuesday with your gain or loss from previous

week. That way, if you have questions about your weight in the future, just

email me and I'll tell you your stats. You'll be the second of two

" gainers " . I'm going to keep the gainers and losers stats separate, of

course, otherwise it won't give a clear picture. I don't like calling us

" losers " but everyone knows what I mean, LOL.

I'll add your name to the list.

Much love,

Carol

Thanks Carol. I think you¹re right about these last 10 pounds. I won¹t

change my diet, so either the weight will come off or I¹ll stay the way I

am. I¹m not counting calories, I¹m counting nutrients. My main goal is

to eat foods to get the required nutrients.

I hope you¹re feeling better today.
