Thanks ,

I am already getting nervous. I have planned it so that I do not have any

cigarettes when I wake up tomorrow. And my car won't start so I'm kind of

stuck here. I have been tempted a couple of times today to call a friend for

a ride to the store to re-stock, but I decided not to. I promise to give

this an honest try. I have been smoking for 20 years now and it is so

second-nature to me. You will probably be hearing me cry a lot for the next

few days. As long as I get through it. I keep saying , " I can do this, I can

do this..... " but sometimes, I'm not really sure that I can. It has been a

part of my life for so long. Oh, well, as Heidi says, " On to better breath,

easier breathing, whiter teeth, and healthier skin. LET'S DO IT!!!!

Thanks Kathy,

The NO CASH part is no problem. The staying home is also no problem now that

my car needs a new battery. Can't solve that prob until next week anyway.

My dad let me borrow his old clunker, but it wouldn't start this morning.

I'm afraid to tell him about it. The last time I used it, the motor in the

automatic window stopped working. He's probably going to think that I am

really bad luck with cars. Speaking of bad luck, this Fri is Friday the 13.

Anyone superstitious?

You can do it, Stacey, and all the rest of you, too! There probably has

never been a more dedicated smoker than I was, and I did it. You just need

to get through five days, and you'll be free.

I will be sending positive thoughts your way.

<PRE>good luck stacey, for me i quit right after my 2nd carpal tunnel surgery.

i

was in the hospital overnight and my family would not sneak me any smokes in

so i had to deal with it. then in the car all the way home (over an hour and

a half ) then i got home and lit up. i was so disappointed with myself. i

quit a few days after that. the only time i ever tried after 25 yrs of

smoking and i did it!!!! it was easier than i anticipated. good luck to you

all!!!!! my son is on his 4th week, he is also using the patch. kathy in il
