Guest guest
Hi Judi, Pheeeew! I’m so happy that it’s not MS, what great news. You must be so relieved. Sorry you are having a flare though, the fever could be part of the flare. Before I went on Prednisone I used to get the most terrible fevers and flu like symptoms whenever I had a flare, I always thought I was getting flu but since I’ve been on Prednisone I’ve had much milder symptoms when I have a flare and no fevers so far. The wildlife here is very basic compared to the variety I am used to from South Africa. There are not many big animals, nothing really dangerous and NO snakes! (this I consider a good thing, it makes those walks in the woods a piece of cake). Mauritius most famous animal was the Dodo Bird, which the Dutch hunted to extinction before the island was permanently inhabited. There are a few indigenous birds, like the pink pigeon and a type of falcon and also many birds from other countries. There are lots of smaller animals and it’s a beautiful island. Then we also have all the sea creatures to see in summer when we go snorkeling and fishing. The hunting season is from June to September They hunt stags (like bambi), which were originally imported by the Dutch from Java, Indonesia and wild pigs (the black ones that grow tusks when not domestically fed), there are also hares which are hunted out of the normal hunting season to keep the dogs trained and exercised (my husband doesn’t even take a gun anymore so I can go with for the hare “hunting”, it’s funny watching the dogs, they get so excited, and the hares are much faster and don’t get caught.). The rest of the year the animals are left in peace to breed and have their babies. I’m so glad for you that Ron is being proactive about his health now, it must take a bit of stress off your shoulders. I hope this flare goes away quickly so that you can relax a bit and get some relief. Hugs to you and your family, Heidi _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
