Guest guest
Day 4 Cigarettes 0 It is getting easier now. I woke up this a.m. with a stuffy nose and I thought I was getting a cold. I spoke to my cousin this afternoon and she said that when her husband quit, he got flu symptoms for a couple of days while his body cleansed out the toxins. So I am guessing that's what it is. I prefer to think of it that way, because then I can see some results. The fact that my body is cleansing itsself in comforting in a way and makes it easier to deal with. I still have cravings, but not as many and they don't last as long. Every once in a while I get a thought like, " Ok, I have proven that I can do it, so now I can go back to smoking and be comfortable. " Then I ask myself why I would want to go back now after I have come this far. I keep telling myself that the hard part is over. The first day was not pleasant, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I found that if I just kept busy, then I was ok. It is the same way today. If you just change the way you think of things, it is amazing how things fall into place. I have not been munching as much today. Thank goodness. Popcorn is helping for the salty cravings and the fruit for the sweet. And of course, there is chocolate. Heidi: it is so much easier knowing that you are doing this with me. Just keep thinking of that healthy baby that you will be carrying soon. Love and Hugs, Stacey in PA
