Guest guest
It's taken me a few years but I finally came to the conclusion that everything is related to my hashi's! I just had carpal tunnel surgery and of course that is listed as being related, and btw, my hand is even worse now than pre surgery. I also get episodes of losing my voice for weeks at a time and I have a funny feeling this too is related to my thyroid. Guest guest
Losing my voice was one of my very first symptoms that sent me to two ENTs back in the early 80s. didn't get diagnosed until 2004. and i too suffered with carpal tunnel during the 90s and considered surgery. but i was surgery adverse luckily....because the carpal tunnel went away once i started thyroid hormone. yep, everything i had my entire life i think...was hashi's/hypo. amazing...well sad...that i spent so much time going to docs and spending so much money and living with diminished quality of life because they don't recognize this disease. cindi > > It's taken me a few years but I finally came to the conclusion that > everything is related to my hashi's! Guest guest
I, too, have had dry eyes for years. First I had punctal plugs put in (blocking the tear ducts, therefore, keeping more moisture in the eye). Then I took Restasis, which helped a bit. I use contacts with extra moisture for dry eyes (you can ask your doc about them--I think Acuvue makes them). When my meds are good my eyes aren't as bad. When my other symptoms flair up my dry eyes always come back. I had NO IDEA that this was a related symptom of a thyroid condition until further research and discussion groups like this. Be sure to tell your eye doc what's going on as well. Colleen South Jersey
