Guest guest
Hi Jennie, I did receive your email and I am about to email you back, but I wanted to say that I, too, have terrible problems with posting and receiving post from this loop. I just got a ton of back post yesterday!! Guest guest
hi, I will try to keep this short. I would like to say that many brain chemistry imbalance issues are so horrible that if you suffered with one of them, you would only have mostly good things to say about anti-depressants and our culture. I can tell you now that someone I know very well was a shut in because of panic attacks, and the anti-depressants she now takes have given her a 2nd shot at life. She has been on them for 8 years, and no psychosis yet. hsmomus wrote: Hi Jennie, I did receive your email and I am about to email you back, but I wanted to say that I, too, have terrible problems with posting and receiving post from this loop. Guest guest
No doubt antidepressants have given many a second chance at life...I don't doubt that for a minute...I myself just started to use one last month-- I will use it for about a week each month to combat severe pms... it's better to use it than it is to feel like I am going beserk! BUT, with that said, I think our body always tells us the truth, meaning, that the 'brain chemistry imbalance' is not just about the brain, it's about the WHOLE body, especially including the digestive system (most of the serotonin is manufactured IN THE GUT!)...and when we start having problems with 'brain chemistry', then we need to look elsewhere to solve the problem. Yes, my body is going through hormonal changes as I am aging, but I know that I am NOT helping myself by drinking pop every day and putting processed foods in my system, not exercising, not getting enough sunlight, etc. My body is trying to tell me the truth, and the truth is, that while the medicine is going to help me in the short term, unless *I* do something to help myself in the long run, I'll only end up creating another problem in my body down the road. It is the same with constipation, too... we're all working towards finding the underlying reason why our kids (or ourselves) are constipated, so that we can address it in the most natural way possible. :-) W > > hi, > I will try to keep this short. Guest guest
Hi! I am very thankful for doctors and meds. They have saved many lives(including my sons). I was also put on a med about 20yrs ago, took for about a year(I was having panic attacks pretty severe). I took myself off in learning what the meds can cause long term. I can say they was probably a life saver at the time. The thing that upsets me is doctors wont take the time to find the underlying issue. I know that my issue was health/not taking care of my health and probably all the toxins in our enviroment etc. We do need meds sometimes but that should not be the only answer. Most meds are a bandage and not a cure. For example miralax, we all know it is just a bandage and most of us want answers/cures. Our society today doesnt want to take the time to teach(most likely due to no money in that) use preventive/healing measures naturally. I still on occaision have anxiety, but try to deal with it the best I can, example... less sugar(this one is horrible), more sun(vit D), walks, foods that naturally produce serotonin, etc. When someone is on antidepressants it destroys the natural serotonin our bodies produce and therefor the need for the med requires more and more. I just wish doctors could take the time to teach more natural methods so that we are not so dependent on drugs. But they are not paid to do that and are, Im sure they are very overwhelmed with what they are already dealing with medically. We just have to take things into our own hands sometimes, specifically for our kids. Im not saying we shouldnt use meds, I keep miralax, tylenol etc. in my cubbard just incase, but more important is to try natural/heal. Psychosis is when the serotonin is not there, the meds provide the synthetic form while destroying the natural form. That is why when on these meds they say not to go cold turkey, that is when the psychosis can happen or the opposite if to much of the synthetic is given. Please understand I am not daming meds, just upset our society wont teach preventive measures or ways to help get off the meds! Jennie wrote: hi,I will try to keep this short.
