Dear Al,keep your positive attitude,I will keep you in my prayers. You are

right, there are many reasons why the weight loss has occurred and with a good

medical team looking after you,I feel that everything will work out well for

you.

Al, please try not to think cancer if they haven't mentioned it. I know

it's hard. And you're right - there are many, many reasons for weight

loss.

I myself lost a mysterious 20 pounds early on (from a normal weight).

One endocrinologist told me it was no big deal to lose that much. They

did test me for all kinds of things, but came upon nothing concrete to

explain it. Some thyroid abnormalities were found and given as a

possible reason, but the doctors couldn't agree.

I remember worrying just a few years ago that my mother had cancer when

she lost a dramatic amount of weight (I think it must have been more

than 25 pounds) - it wasn't cancer but a manifestation of the onset of

her Type II diabetes.

Hoping your questions are answered soon,

Hi ,

It was only mentioned in passing, but still kind of surreal to hear.

I know that they are also checking me for hyperparathyroidism, which

can explain weight loss and high calcium levels in the blood.

I am remaining upbeat through this and hope to get some of my

questions answered very soon.

Thanks for being there.

Love and hugs,

Al

I hope the figure it out soon, Al. I don't think you should have lost

that much weight either.

Glad to hear that you had a nice weekend and a date, too!
