Guest guest
I got the results of my bloodwork back, and got some good news and bad news. My liver enzymes were all in the normal range. A month ago, my AST and ALT were slightly elevated after only two weeks on Arava. I figure the two loading doses that I took must have been responsible for the elevation, since my liver is holding its own right now. The bad news is that my white blood cell count has gone still lower. It's now 3.4 (normal 4.0-10.5). My Absolute Lymph (whatever that is) went from 0.4 to 0.6 (normal 0.7-3.3). My platelet count, which was low last month, has returned to normal. It's a wonder I haven't caught something, having no way to fight off infections. Just lucky, I guess. It is a cause of concern, though. I'm taking 10mg of Arava, and the mtx has already been cut back to 10mg a week. Has anyone else had this problem? I guess there's nothing to do but cut back on the mtx again. I'm sure that's what my rheumy will say when I call him.
