Hi Jeanie,

I think witch hazel compresses are good. After my 2nd son's birth my midwife

suggested

this to help alleviate the swollen tissue and blood vessels. Her assistant

suggested soaking a

feminine pad and placing in a ziploc in the freezer for a while, then applying.

Although I

think it works o.k. even if it's not cold - it's just a little more soothing for

swollen

tissue/vessels if cold.

Also, an herbal tonic made of nettles helps with vessel support. You can brew

at home, add

boiling water to nettles and steep for something like 6 hours I think. If

you're interested I can

dig up the instructions from my midwife.
