Guest guest
Hi Tricia, You said that you use a chiro for your daughters constipation. HOw often do you have to take her? How long does it take to work? Where does the chiro do the adjusting? If you stop taking her, how long before she is constipated again? Do you still have to use other aids (MOM, etc)? I am very interested in this! We have a chiro who only charges $35 a visit and gives family discounts (2nd patient is 1/2 price and 3rd is free). She did wonders for my neck and older dd's back years ago. Susie ~ > > > > > > My dd is 4 years old and has been constipated since birth. Guest guest
Hi Susie! We don't go to the chiro nearly enough considering that when she gets adjusted, she comes home and poops immediately! Our chiro uses an activator (which is a small took that makes a clicking noise and she works on Olivia's lower back and buttocks. My daughter loves it ad has actually gotten so relaxed on the table, she almost falls asleep! Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. It's totally painless, if anything at all is felt, my daughter says it feels good! http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://z.about.com/d/altmedicine/1/0/4/6/\ chiropractic.jpg & imgrefurl=http://altmedicine.about.com/od/chiropract2/ig/Chirop\ ractic/Chiropractic-Office.htm & h=375 & w=500 & sz=55 & hl=en & start=1 & um=1 & tbnid=4QNCN9\ PGtdDEIM: & tbnh=98 & tbnw=130 & prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchiropractic%2Bactivator%26svnum%3\ D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%2\ 6sa%3DN My daughter is not sensitive to noise but I would imagine a child who is might not like the clicking noise it makes. At our fist appointment, our chiro let my children hold the activator and use it on each other and us so that they could see it was harmless. I'm sure that helped! We always have to give her something (MOM, MAG CIT, FIBER) or she is backed up (and sometimes still is even with all that!) but my testimony is that we definitely think chiropractic helps and if we could afford it, we'd go a lot more! Guest guest
Electricity?(!) NO! An Activator is a small hand-held instrument that looks and acts similar to a 6- inch pogo stick. A spring inside delivers a high-speed, but gentle, thrust to the vertebrae or joint via a small rubber tip. Using the activator, rather than a manual adjustment, the patient's muscle resistance is not fighting against the adjustment. In contrast, a typical manual adjustment requires the chiropractor to bend and twist the patient into positions that are not natural to the body, causing the patient to tense up. Patients remain in their own clothing during adjustments, making a visit to the chiropractor relatively quick and uncomplicated. > > > > > > > > > > My dd is 4 years old and has been constipated since birth.
