Guest guest
Ok, I changed the title. I thought this little guy may be a symbol for all of us. I hope he knows the weight of the hopes he is carrying. I watched " smokey " go from caterpillar to cocoon at about 10:30 (eastern time) this morning. It was so amazing. I always thought that they wove their cocoon, but that isn't what I saw. It seemed as though the outer skin cracked open and a slimy green worm-like creature emerged. It hung from the top of the container and wiggled until all of the outer skin fell off and then it just hung there and dried on the outside and now there is a cocoon. If anyone ever has the chance to see something like this, I highly recommend it. It is so amazing. I know that I keep saying that, but it really is. It will stay in the cocoon for 10 days and then it will slowly emerge and unfold its wings and dry out and it will be a butterfly. So we have until the 26th to wait.
