Guest guest
This is my understanding as well . _ That breastfeeding , because of the ovarian quiecense, reduces the risk of ovarian cancer. Re: "Irresponsible" Call for more contraceptive availablility by The Lancet journal It is my understanding that the reduction in ovarian cancer attributed to the Pill is via its reduction in pre-ovulatory estrogen. If that is the case, then cannot the same be said for extended breastfeeding for at least two years? And since ecological breastfeeding is the only style of breastfeeding that provides extended anovulation, would that not be another reason to promote and teach ecological breastfeeding? Please correct me if I am in error about how the Pill reduces ovarian cancer. Guest guest
Very good point! But as opposed to the endocrinopathy represented by the pill, breastfeeding accomplishes this in a way that constitutes a real health benefit and enhances the health of the whole body, because it's part of the design of the body.
