Guest guest
Hillary, to me it seems you haven't found the right doctor indeed. I'm not in NY so I can't be of any help as far as endos are concerned but the fact that you can't be treated because you're not sick enough doesn't really make sense. If you have been diagnosed it means something in your blood tests showed some unbalance. When I had my first lab tests, over one year ago, my tsh, t3 and t4 were alright but I had lots of antibodies. And although my doctor said it was a mild case of Hashimoto, he immediately put me on Levotiroxine. So you absolutely have to shop around until you find somebody that takes your complaints seriously, weight gain included and above all. I have always been very thin so my gain is barely noticeable but it bothers me nevertheless. I have met doctors who told me " You shouldn't complain, I'm sure you look much better now " . I don't care if I look better or not, I want to feel my body the way it was before! It's amazing how women are still looked at as if they are some brainless bimbos who whine and complain for nothing. Sorry for the outburst... Heit Mercoledì, 23 lug 2003, alle 16:20 Europe/Rome, hillary71@... ha scritto: > Just joined the other day and thought I'd jump in and say > hello. Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I am new to the group and would just like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Bambi(yes really!) and I am 29 years old. In late 2003/early 2004, I started having severe pain and numbness all over my body. I was rapidly degenerating and could barely walk most days. I was sent to a Rheumatist who treated me for arthritis and tested me for nerve damage as well as multiple diseases. During that that time I started seeing an internist, and in late 2006 he diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and CFS/CPS,Depression,and most recently TMJ. I have a great medicinal regimine. I have about half the pain, fatigue and numbness that I had 3 years ago. Enough gabbing about me..I am excited to be part of this group. Health and Happiness to all! Guest guest
Hi! I am new to this group, and after reading your postings, my heart goes out to all of you who are suffering. I joined this group because I've been experiencing joint pain (in my toes, ankles, knees, wrists, and fingers) and fatigue since the end of May. My dr diagnosed me with Parvovirus (both my IgG and IgM levels were elevated, which he was confused about). The joint pain and fatigue lasts for a few weeks, then goes away for about a week, and then comes back. I am also losing more hair than usual. I have an appointment to see a Rheumatologist the end of this month. Has anyone else had these symptoms from the Parvovirus? Christa

Guest guest
Hi Bittles Welcome to our group. Talk about informative people!. You will find them here. This group has been a blessing to me; I have FMS, CFIDS,TMJ,IBS; and i pray thats all!. There are people with far worse symptoms then me; and I remind myself of that everyday. I am a psychotherapist to nursing home residents; conesequently, that is a good reality check for me. Would you mind sharing your medicinal regime with our group. What has worked what has not worked is always helpful to hear. I also recently clicked on a link and found this website. Thought , I would share it with all of you. http://www.stopfibro.com/index.html Sounds like a clinic that has been successful treating FMS; although, there is a form to fill out for financial support/assistance, I wonder how people afford the hotels/living arrangements for a lengthy time while being treated.? Also, I have been researching the supplement:guaifenesin. Has anyone tried this for fibromyalgia?, supposedly it helps symptoms. Thanks, Debby (dcmaka)
Guest guest
The Xanthones in the original Mangosteen has helped a LOT with sleep and reducing inflammation thus reducing need for pain meds!!

Guest guest
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Hi Diane, Here is the gist of what I take medicinally: 60mg of Cymbalta - (hasn't been approved for FM yet but has been approved for Diabetic Nerve Pain. fantastic results as far as emotionally. 100mg of Trazodone- another antidepressant/sedative I take for sleep ..50mg of Triazolam- this is the medication prescribed for sedation dentistry..I take it for sleep For the pain, I take between 1-5 tablets of Tylenol #3 daily, usually just 2 pills in the evening. But one of the things that has helped me the most for reducing the pain and inflammation is that I drink between 1.5-3 liters of electrolyte enhanced distilled water. It has calcium magnesium and most importantly potassium. I cannot live with out it. I am miserable. I am able to significantly reduce the effects of TMJ. It also reduces hotflashes and overheating. If I can't get the right water, I will eat a banana or two to increase my potassium levels. Also helps leg cramps after exercise. Thanks!
