Hi ,

Of course your husband should go on the Minocin. Why should he have to

endure pain and suffering just because he isn't " bad enough to do

anything yet " ?

The sooner you start the antibiotics the easier it is to put it in

remission.

I would suggest you have him go on the diet as well. Evidently his

immune system needs enhancing.

Thanks for the encouraging words, Ethel. The day the morning stiffness

disappears we will probably both be arrested for dancing in the streets --------

and anywhere else we want to.

Hey Ethel,

I’m a Sally too! Yikes!

Well “Blerck” is a great word, really universal! You should DEFINITELY add

that one to your vocabulary. You need to say it with your tongue out though

for it to be effective – try it… tongue out on the L and back in on the K…

see? LOL! ;-)

The anti-smoking mission is getting easier and easier like you said it

would. It’s day 9 today!! n is hanging on really well, thank

goodness, it would have been very hard to stop if he didn’t. It’s very

inspiring to hear from you how well it went, it gives the strength to know I

can do it too. Thanks so much for cheering me on, you are a wonderful

friend Carol, I’m so glad to have found you!

You must be so excited for baby ’s birth! Good luck! It’s very sweet

of you to go up there and look after them, I need a sister like you – can I

lease you out when I have a baby? LOL! Hey doesn’t a live in Atlanta?

Maybe you’ll bump into her there!

I’m so happy that the Pred is working; go and do that dance!! At least it

means that it’s probably Arthur and not an infection from the Remicade.

Gosh it really is a wonder drug; such a bummer about the side effects

though. I wouldn’t worry too much about the study criteria, your first duty

is to yourself and you must do what’s best for your health and well-being.

You’re a human being not a guinea pig. (And a wonderful human being at that!

:-)

Sending love and ((((((giant hugs))))))

Heidi

Oh Ethel, I have missed you so much too! It has been sooooooooo long since

I have heard your voice!

I hope that you continue to receive relief from your new treatment. I am to

see my rheumy on Monday for a bone density test and exam. We will discuss

the Kineret and I think I will just stay off the new medications and try to

muddle thru. The ortho says that my best bet is a knee fusion, but the

thought of ANY surgery scares everything out of me (don't even want to get my

ears pierced at this time!). He took a lot of bloody fluid out of my knee

the other day and we are awaiting the test results and then we will go from

there. Right now I am in such pain right now in my right leg. I am also

having trouble with my tummy in that about 2 hours after I eat, I have

terrible pain and nausea,so I think I will need to call my GI doc. The

thought of an endoscope does not excite me, but I do need to have certain

things ruled out. If it is not my tummy, then it is the adhesions (my best

guess) and I need to see the general surgeon. I am sure that he will be

delighted with all my new medical conditions. My coumadin level is low, so

they had to increase that. I looked at my medications and it just seems

obscene to be on all these medications. My girls say it is worth it to keep

me alive and at times I see it just prolonging the inevitable.

It sounds as though you will still be on the road over the holiday

weekend......Please be careful. We will have a quiet weekend. Easter egg

hunt, Church, breakfast and then later in the day ( has to work until

6:00 pm),we will have the ham dinner from Publix and some other goodies.

Family holidays are the best holidays.

I hope that Stan is holding up OK without you being there, sure can't be easy

for him.

Looking forward to hearing from you and catching up. Missing our old hijinx,

Ethel!!!!!

Love, Lucy

Congrats Jan! One year down! You will be in remission if you keep on with

AP. I don't consider myself in remission even tho my tests have been neg for

many years. I still get pains here and there. I still get tired. BUT I am

doing too good to be true for how bad I was.

Your post came thru very well.

Here's wishing you a great year.

I have been reading the posts in here but have never been able to

post...been a member since a year ago March. So, i just email folks

with questions and responces to their posts. I recently asked Chris

for help, she is working on it. This is a " test " post to see if it

works yet.

Back a year ago March it was a posts in here that made me search

further for information the antibiotic therapy. I have been on AP one

year and have been blessed with a renewed life....not remission yet,

but on my way. Thanks for caring.

This post came through, Jan, so evidently the problem has been resolved. Now

you can post your questions and comments for the entire group to see and

respond to.

It's good to hear you are doing well on the therapy.
