Guest guest
Judy, RA may be incurable, but it isn¹t untreatable. Many advances have been made, especially with the biologicals Enbrel, Remicade and now Kineret. Before Enbrel, I felt the same way the woman in church felt. I¹d been through everything, and nothing really helped much. Enbrel changed that although it hasn¹t stopped the progression. It¹s made a big difference in my life. Don¹t listen to negative people. How well you feel has a lot to do with mental attitude. If you let it get you down, it will get you. There are people that just go into remission. I never let go of that hope. Reeve is a miracle. Hard work and determination is paying off for him. I believe one day he will walk. a > thanks, guys for the info on Decadron. Guest guest
You're very welcome, Judi. And thank you for your kind words. I agree with a. Don't let that cranky person get you down. Maybe she is not getting the best of care and feels hopeless. Perhaps you could invite her to join and she could see that RA does not necessarily mean doom and gloom. Your cheerful outlook will help you find the best way to deal with your physical problems and ward off the blues. There is much to be optimistic about. Yes, no Purina guinea pig food for you! Keep hoping, Re: [ ] & a Judy, RA may be incurable, but it isn¹t untreatable. Many advances have been made, especially with the biologicals Enbrel, Remicade and now Kineret. Guest guest
Tess, have you tried lots of fiber? Recently I have had to find ways to add more fiber to my diet to ensure regularity. I tried generic Metamusel, but it is terrible to drink. Benefiber is not gritty like that. I mix some up in my morning protein drink. I also make these low-carb, high fiber muffins. I use unprocessed wheat bran and several other things that I bought at a working mill that does its own grinding. I also put grated zuchini and some of that generic Metamusel in them. Gotta use that big container somehow, LOL. Guest guest
Tess, I'm not sure what your doctors would think of my remedy for keeping my bowels regular. Vitamin C works like a charm. I found out about it from Linus ing's site. He got a Pulitzer Prize for his research on vitamin C. He believes that each disease robs our body of varying amounts of Vitamin C so the dosage required for everyone is different. To find optimal vitamin C levels required, he has us slowly increase our dose every day until diarrhea occurs and then back off the dosage until bowels are normal. Here is some reading about him and his protocol: http://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/MM/ PLEASE don't try this without talking to your doctor. Having the bariatric surgery may make this unsafe for you. I'm so glad your tests didn't show anything serious. If you have a blender, fruit slushies are good and work well. My favorite a banana, about 6 strawberries, a handful of baby spinach leaves, a splash of pineapple juice, and about a cup of ice. blend it all together and you've got a very healthy green slushie. I just love them. a On Jul 22, 2005, at 5:49 AM, Grammi B wrote: > Hey Sweet Ladies...My endoscopy and colonoscopy showed no problems > except the very low motility. My doctors are working with me to help > that, but not quite sure what will help. Do you have any thoughts or > suggestions? > > They are concerned that this has slowed my weight loss as most folks > with the same bariatric surgery as I had have several bm's per day and > loose stools.
