Guest guest
Hi Iris, Thanks for asking about Wyatt. He hasn't really noticed that I have stopped yet. But he is doing well. He loves school and is ahead of his class in reading. He is doing very well in all of the other subjects also. I am extremely proud of him. He is excited about joining the Cub Scouts. The sign-ups are next Thursday and he just can't wait. I feel really comfortable and secure about this because I know the pack leader and his family and they are great people. I usually worry about these things for kids because of all the bad things you hear about kids being abused, and it being right after that thing with the nasty neighbor. But I think it would be good for him. His father has not called to see him in a month. Something happened at the last visit, but Wyatt is not talking about it. He just says that he thinks that his father doesn't love him anymore and that he doesn't want to go back. His father acted very strange when I met him to pick up Wyatt, and I could tell right away that something was wrong. It will come out sooner or later when Wyatt is ready to talk about it. Just like last time when he finally told me that his dad's girlfriend's son was beating on him and saying some nasty things to him. It took a little while, but it come out, so I'm sure this will too. So it is a good thing that he hasn't called. But the Scouts will give him a good impression of a male figure in his life. So we are both looking forward to it. We are having a blast going to the festivals. I love fall. There is so much to do and the weather is not as severe. And there are festivals every weekend. The ones this weekend are Covered Bridge festivals and heritage days for some communities and there are a few others. Oh there is one to raise money for MS with a lot of local bands donating their time for entertainment and all the procedes go to a local organization. Just a lot of down home types of things. The crafts that people make are just amazing. I get a lot of ideas just looking. I always say, " I can do that. " But I never do. Its fun to look though. Plus it gives us a chance to eat lots of food that is not good for us. Next month will be the most fun with all the pumpkin festivals. OOOOOHHHHHHHH I can't wait. Pumpkin butter, pumpkin fudge, fudge covered apples, caramel apples, kettle corn, hot apple cider, pumpkin carving, hay rides, bonfires, I could go on and on and on.......If anyone wants pumpkin butter, give me your address and I will send you some. It is great. Boy, this is turning into a book, guess its time to close. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
Guest guest
Dear Stacey, I am glad to hear that Wyatt is doing so well in school. Cub Scouts are wonderful! It gives boys a chance to form friendships outside the competiveness of sports. I have noticed that it brings together a lot of children with different interests under the best of circumstances. My children's father did not have a father and for many years his only male role model was the scout master. Scouts is a great organization. It sounds as though you have a really good time during the fall going to festivals. I too, love them but can't attend too many because of my walking limitations. I used to show my paintings at a lot of the festivals around here. This weekend is the annual balloon festival in Plano. This year they have great weather...sunny and the high of 80. Watching the balloons fill and float away is a great experience. One of these days, I want to ride in one...don't know how that will go since I have develop and fear of heights. Two weekends ago was the wine festival in Grapevine. Wyatt's dad needs to get a clue. The shame is that he doesn't even realize what he is missing out on and the damage he is doing to Wyatt. I feel that Wyatt will be ok because he has a great mom who puts him first and gives him all the love he needs plus more. I hope that ya'll (or should I say yous guys) have a great and fun-filled weekend. Hugs, Iris. --- bintherdunit@... wrote: > Hi Iris, > Thanks for asking about Wyatt.
