Hi Sue,

Congrats on making the decision to quit. It is pretty hard for the first few

days. I won't lie about it. So don't beat yourself up about slipping. But

if you try to keep busy and not think of it, you may be surprised at how

quickly the time goes by. I had a lot of help from Charms Blow Pops, Peanut

M & Ms, and carrot sticks. Two of the websites that I found really helpful

were: quitsmokinguk.com/getting_through_the_first_2_weeks.htm and

surgeongeneral.gov/tobacco/1stweek.htm. You can get some more hints and tips

there. I tried chewing on toothpicks, but the taste made me sick. I found

that gum was the most satisfying for me. I hope this helps. Good luck and

keep us informed.

Love and Hugs

Hi Stacey

I`m afraid I have`nt succeeded this time. I won`t beat myself up though!

I told my husband that I was going to stop but instead of helping me he keeps

on picking arguments about all and everything and my nerves are all up in the

air. Next time I will not tell him and make sure that I am going out that

first day. This has happened before and I can`t understand it, unless it`s

because he can`t stop smoking? Anyway, I know that I will have your support

next time. I have`nt set a day yet as I need to be calm first. Mind you, I

am only smoking half as many as I did so I have `half` stopped!!!

You know, I am a really mild, gentle person and I feel I don`t deserve to be

shouted and cursed at, and resentment builds up, then some of my muscles

become painful through the stress. Anyway, I am going to take myself off to

the garden centre tomorrow and enjoy some peace on my own.

Sorry to be such a moaner!!

How is Wyatt? My son, Nick, comes back from Tunisia on Saturday and I can`t

wait to see him.

Hugs

Sue
