Guest guest
I have a friend that actually cured herself of Pituatary (sp?) cancer when doctors gave up hope. She used Dr.Schultz's Incuribles Program. I have other friends that take various of his products, and they all say they work great. That leads me to his Intestinal Formula #1. It is designed for adults, as you can tell from the ing. But I was wondering if anyone has tried this on their children? As you can imagine the government/fda is all over Dr. Shultz, so he cannot answer any health questions. The claim is that it cleanses and STRENGTHENS the colon along with killing yeastie beasties and building good flora. The ingredients to Schultz's Number 1 Formula is Curacao and Cape Aloe leaf, Senna leaves and pods, Cascara Sagrada aged bark, Jamaican Ginger rhizome, Barberry root bark, Garlic bulb, and Habanero peppers. I don't know what curacao is, so I would have to investigate that one. But my main concerns at this point is that a 2 1/2 yo is not gonna swallow a pill. Sooooo #1) if anybody here has ever tasted habanaro they know that it makes a jalapeno taste as cool as iced tea on a hot summer day. #2)I have heard that Cascara Sagrada can be harsh creating cramping. I don't know if there is enough CS in this combo to do this, or if the combination will prevent that. Anyone have any thoughts on this? If Hannah Graces were old enough to swallow pill I would be all over this like white on rice. Susie ~
Guest guest
Hi Susie,I'm not sure about the peppers, but the other ingredients are in a lot of herbal laxatives. Our chiropractor recommended Swiss Kriss (comes as loose leaves, but you can make a tea from them that tastes sort of like licorice), and I've also seen herbal laxatives that come as drops, and contain many of these ingredients. However...we have never had much luck with this kind of thing. Senna especially, although it is supposed to be very safe, never seems to affect my DD at all. I tried taking the same dose I was giving her, one day when I felt a little constipated, and it had me running to the bathroom every half hour...but it honestly had zero effect on my four-year-old. Still, if you want to try it, I think there are some liquid laxatives out there that contain it...maybe even Smooth Move tea, which I once got from our grocery store. Guest guest
Our mainstream pediatrician actually recommended Dr. Schulze's intestinal formula #3 for DS when he was about 2.5 yrs old. We went to American Botanical Pharmacy in Marina Del Rey & I asked when I bought it how much to give a 2.5 year old. The woman (who hadn't been terribly outgoing to that point) said try starting with just a drop or two and then work your way up. We never saw much gain from it - went up to probably at least 1/4 tsp if not 1/2 tsp (don't remember exactly - but probably up to one increment over the rec. dose for his age/weight - whatever the label said?) - when, of course, we could get it into him. It tastes terrible! (not spicy/hot, just yucky - very strong - maybe it was the anise? whatever it was - none of us liked it). And, for DH it had the same effect as Bonnie described for herself - a small amt had him running off to the bathroom several times (and I think he had some cramps, too...)?....But DS seemed unphased by it. That's not to say it won't work for Hannah - just wanted to share our experience as well. FWIW, the ped did say that only Intestinal #3 seems to work for the kids, not 1 or 2. But, I am not sure if that was based on what she's seen in her practice or on what the American Botanical Pharmacy says or ?????? Never asked her. Guest guest
Thanks ladies!! I guess it is just like most of the things we try with our kiddos. What will land me on the toilet for a week barely has an effect on Hannah if at all. I will look into the IF#3 if I don't see good results with the aloe and Slippery Elm, etc soon. Dh is forcing himself to work right now, so we have a little bit of money. I am soooooo torn over this whole situation. Dh is in extream pain because he is working, yet he is trying to provide for his family. It is soo hard to watch your child suffer and know that if there is anything to help you can't pay for it. So he is trying, but at a huge expense to his own body. Not only does he have spinal problems, but his eye was damaged 3 decades ago, and it left him with an eye virus that is triggered by the sun. Guess where he is working. Yep, in the sun. I fear that he will loose his eye one day. The pain is soo bad for him. So I am pulled between our dd and my dh. I'll look into the IF#3. Guest guest
My husband has used this product...it was pretty harsh, which is rare for him. I thought it also made his breath and body smell really bad!!
