Guest guest
But what about the other half of your genes, Al? While I know that the current thinking is that there is a strong genetic component in celiac disease, I'm not sure that they've identified it yet. Can they really say that your Greek half will outweigh the other side of your inheritance? I'm going to have to look up the prevalence in various countries/ethnicities now. Your doctors are keeping me busy on the Net. I am reminded of the fact the my former SIL who is 100% Japanese (as far as anyone knows) was told years ago that she couldn't have Crohn's disease because she was Japanese. Not so! She and several family members are/were affected. She, in particular, suffers very seriously from the disease. She sought out an Crohn's expert or two and is very sure that is her diagnosis. Whatever the case, it's interesting. When you mentioned celiac disease as a possibility several days ago I also wondered if your doctors thought that could have anything to do with the elevated calcium levels. I didn't see any such association in my brief searches. Oh, well. You probably aren't concerned too much with this aspect of your problems, but maybe a diversion from the more serious possibilities might help somewhat. Hoping your mind can wander to happy and frivolous thoughts, [ ] > Hi , > > Thank you very much for your concern. I really appreciate it. People > of Greek ancestry almost never get Celiac Disease.
