toe question

Hi...My right big toe looks funny. There is no sore on it or obvious

injury, but from about 1/8 of an inch below the bottom of the nail and

continuing all around the whole nail it is reddish purple, and seems to

have a bulge on the top of my toe.

The is no open wound, no icky looking discharge at all. It's not an

ingrown nail...have had them and they are more localized to the problem

spot, usually with obvious infection.

I have Type 2 diabetes well controlled (last HA1C was 6.3) and watch my

feel. Unfortunately this toe is on the side where I have numbness &

weakness from the foot drop/herniated disks.

Is there anything safe I might try at home, or do I need to show it to a

doctor? I don't want to see any doctors right now..ugh...but I will if

I need to.

Love You All....

Tess
