Guest guest
Hi Jan, Thank you. It certainly has been a real trying time for all of us. My faith, however, does remain strong and I still can't help but think there is a greater reason these things happen. It's just hard to understand why sometimes. What got to me the most yesterday was when Randi said " better me than you " . How can a 22 year old, who is just beginning her life's journey say something as unselfish as that? Her statement has changed me forever. Love and hugs, Al

Guest guest
I have a favor to ask. My 22 year old cousin Randi, who is living with us, may have ovarian cancer. She will know for sure in 2 weeks but her doctors have told her it doesn't look good Hi Al, I lived through a big ovarian cancer scare three years ago, and here I am, trying to have a baby! What looked ominous on an ultrasound, and sent me on a 18 month journey of second opinions, tons of scans, and research and $, turned out to be a form of an ovarian cyst. Not cancer. But as soon as the sono technician saw the big black mass on my sono, she called the dr, and he did a CA 125 test on me. Of course it was a Friday, and I had to wait until Monday to find out the results. Nerve wracking weekend, but I actually met my dear husband that weekend! Figured I better get out of the house if life was going to be short! So the CA 125 was negative, but they still monitored my closely by doing doppler color flow scans. This kind of scan shows how good or bad the blood flow is to the area in ?. If it is high blood flow, that is a great sign, if low... could be beginning of trouble. Do you know what scans and blood work they have done for her? Tell her to hang tough. I had a gang of ghoulish drs hanging around me telling me I needed a complete hysterectomy for a year and a half. I fought them off with education, frequent doppler color flows, asking other drs. In the end, the best and my angel was the chief of gyn oncology at Hopkins. He is pretty much the #1dr in the world for female cancers. Is she anywhere near the east coast? Also, I know I survived because the Lord healed me, SO many people were praying for me. I called church prayer chains, the 700 Club, Benny Hinn, you name it and asked for prayer. Went to a monthly small healing service at an Episcopal church. Mainly kept my eyes on the Lord, knowing He would heal me and protect me from a castrating surgery, and He did! Let me know what is going on, and of course I will be praying for her. God bless, Kitty
