If it said the molecular weight is 198.21 then that is daltons.

MW is always expressed as daltons.

DMSO will carry it in since it is under 1000 daltons.

To reply to the group put:

DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO

in the To: box.

Or if it is an individual message you can hit

reply at the top of the message.

It is best practices not to reply to the digest unless you know

how to trim the quoted messages to just the part you are

responding to -- if you email program is set to quote the

message you are replying to. This is in your email settings

on your computer, some email programs are not set to

copy the text of the message they are replying to in the

reply.

I did a search for the molecular weight and found a place

that guai as

198.21 but it doesn't say if that is " Daltons " and I'm no

chemist so can

you tell me if that is correct?

As long as the substance has a molecular weight of less than

1000

daltons DMSO should carry it in. To find the molecular weight

search on an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) on the substance,

generally these contain the MW. Or alternately you can

search the

substance name + " molecular weight " , the quotes are important to

the search string efficiency. I would prepare each separately

just in case there is any competition for uptake sites on the

DMSO molecule. Garnet
