Guest guest
I saw my endocrinologist last week. He always examines my feet, so I asked him about a lump I have about an inch from the base of my ankle. (It appeared about the same time that the rheumatoid nodules appeared on my elbows and some kind of knots appeared on my knees.) He said that it looked like it might be a ganglion cyst. I looked up ganglion cyst on the internet and read that they can be caused by rheumatoid arthritis. They are filled with a jelly-like substance. When I saw my rheumy a few months ago, he confirmed that I have nodules on my elbows. He said the lump on my foot was not one, but he didn't tell me what it was. He said something about tendons and ligaments that didn't really answer my question. At the time, it hadn't occurred to me that the knots on my knees might be nodules. Within a month after seeing him, I acquired two knots on the top of each hand, between my wrist and fingers. I'm thinking that they are nodules, but I'm not sure. Maybe there's yet another kind of lump or knot or bump that can be caused by RA and maybe my body is building up a collection of them. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY BODY WITH THIS DASTARDLY DISEASE!!! Is there no one on the list who has any such bumps or lumps or knots?
