Guest guest
Deb, Hang in there! I was in your situation form Sept 2007 until July 2008. I'm not saying it’s going to take you that long. I know it's an added pain to go to the doctor everyday...been there and done that...but you need to be seen by your doctor so the doc can learn how you are adjusting to meds and what's helping and what's not helping you get under control, going to the doctor is way easier than been in the hospital....which I've don’t that before too. Just remember nothing is more important than every breath you take and when you can't breathe nothing else matters at all. I'm not a doctor but it wouldn't help to ask you doctor about an anti-depressant. this group suggested I mention it to my doctor...everyone in this group was right........it has really helped. They also mentioned an anxiety drug...xanax...my doctor agreed as well. These all help you get through the asthma episode, for the the other asthma meds actually work faster because I'm feeling better emotionally. I didn't hear you say you were taking zyrtec. that might help too. After asthma gets out of control...which I know about....it takes time to get it under control. This group has really helped me a lot. My asthma has been active for 20 years, I've only been a member for a few months and there suggestions, support and knowledge has given me strength. I wish I would have had all these wonderful people on my asthma journey 20 years ago.] The best self help and home treatment you can do for yourself is: to avoid all stress, all triggers, sleep any time you can, watch movies, read a book.... I love to listen to books on Cd (I don't even have to use the energy to read) listen to music every day ( as a music teacher I do believe in music therapy) and be good to your self...don't do anything you don't Want to do. If you need someone to talk to just email me off the digest. Terry and others have done this for me and it really helped me. Take care of YOU! God Bless You and your doctor for keeping you alive and breathing, Lou
