Guest guest
Hi Glad to hear your son did better at his second practice. I am sure it had a lot to do with using the inhaler before exercise, but also having dad there also helped I am sure. It is easy to get over whelmed with not being able to breathe when you are alone. Advair may have helped, but I am pretty sure it takes a while to work at its maximum effectiveness. I definelty would follow up with his dr. Advair is a hard hitter, and if he doesnt need it I surely would not use it! there are lots of less potent drugs with less chances of side effects and such. Good luck, glad he is doing better. anita Thanks For the Advise for my Football Player!!Hi everyone,Thanks so much for all the great advise on my little football player!I appreciate every little piece of info that I can get. Just toupdate about his last practice: He used his inhaler before he wentout and did not need it again AT ALL during 3 hours of practice!! WOW... I was shocked ~ not sure if it was the advair, or using theinhaler before he practiced... either way... we will continue to doboth. I am interested in one of the posts about using a lesserpreventative. I will have to go back and read that one again. Again, thanks to all of you for caring enough to respond ~ I love thisgroup!! I will have to post more often ~ there is SO much info toshare on asthma and I really want to explore more natural/alternativemethods. Thanks again ~Lori------------------------------------
Guest guest
Lori I could not get my asthma in control for a year since I was first diagnosed now 34, I switched over to Advair this week and I can tell you this is the first time in a year that my asthma is really stable, and I can actually feel my stomach instead of having my lungs interfere with my life daily. I would stay on a daily controller, I rarely ever use my rescue inhaler unless I run into my trigger and feel an attack brewing. I also have tried going on Vitamin C and multivitamins but a controller is really needed. I use to be a runner 3 to 4 miles a day. Thanks For the Advise for my Football Player!!
