Guest guest
thanks for this recipe. could we start a recipe file in the group files? thanks, sharry power pudding I have a great recipe if you all haven't tried it. there are 2 versions - I think I like the 1st better.3 1/4 c. cooked prunes2c apple juice (I opted for apple cherry)2 c. prune juice1 c bran (I actually used allbran cereal, I will try unprocessed bran today)Blend together. Makes pudding like consistency and my son will take it if I swirl in cool whip. Serve 1/4 - 1/2 c. at same time of day.or1 1/2 c prunes (I am guessing you should cook them up a bit)1 c applesauce1/2 c all bran3/4 c prune juiceBlend together. It takes coaxing to get it down, I have a hunch if I plop some mini chocolate chips in too, it will be a done deal No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
Sounds similar to the concoction my grandmother used to stew up, but she didn't add the bran (and least not that I'm aware of). Not only did she make me eat the prunes - she had me drink the stuff cooled! I'm beginning to seriously wonder if I unknowingly suffered as a kid from the same thing my son does. My aunt says I was horribly constipated and colicky - any kid would be considering how constipated she said I was - and I do remember how my "nanny" used to read to me to keep me on the bowl! Nanny Faigh's compote usually consisted of prunes, apricots, prune juice, a pinch of sugar, and a whole lot of stewing. The juices would get a bit thick, and she'd add some water and then cook it down again. The fruit was very mushy, and the juice was like a thick nectar. My aunt says it worked miracles.ernstm42 wrote: I have a great recipe if you all haven't tried it. there are 2 versions - I think I like the 1st better.3 1/4 c. cooked prunes2c apple juice (I opted for apple cherry)2 c. prune juice1 c bran (I actually used allbran cereal, I will try unprocessed bran today)Blend together.
