Guest guest
Wow. Well, the only thing I can think of is to try pulling out gluten, or to at least try soaking all your grains before cooking with them...I've recently discovered Sue Gregg's website (http://www.suegregg.com/), which has easy recipes for soaking grains. I haven't tried making them yet (I ordered one of her pamphlet/cookbooks and it just came in the mail yesterday). But they look like a really easy approach to soaking--she uses what she calls " blender batters. " For example, she'll put the grains (whole grains, not flour) and yogurt/buttermilk and water in the blender, blend them, then leave them to soak overnight, and then add the rest of the ingredients in the morning, blend again, and make pancakes. I make oatmeal in a similar way--I soak the oats for a few hours, then add cinnamon and a sweetener, and raw apples, and never do cook it--and it's delicious. I would focus on barley and oats over spelt...but that's just my opinion. I think that barley and oats have a more lubricating effect on the intestines. I'm supposed to be okay with spelt, personally, but when I eat homemade spelt bread it makes me feel like I have bricks in my belly. (I have a history of constipation and wouldn't eat fruits and vegs as a child -- now I'm mostly raw vegan and find raw fruits and vegs, especially greens, pretty much solve all my digestive issues. Actually, I think most grains are problematic--but if you have a child who won't eat most fruits and vegs--I have one of those too!--then you're stuck using some kind of grain at least some of the time.) If you ever do switch to a GF diet, though, you'll have to eliminate barley too, and I guess oats are controversial. (I found some GF oats online, but have also seen sources that say oats contain gluten -- ? what do you think about oats?) Good luck!Bonnie Re: Hi, I'm new! And, maybe from bath water too? And maybe are avoiding bleached flour too? And bleached sugar? And are avoiding bleach in your own cleaning? And staying out of public pools? Yes, we have well water and it is very high quality. He has a water bottle at all times. I have avoided white foods for the most part since I was 19 and had yeast head to toe. We don't have a public pool and most all the water around us is spring fed. I'm sure with your long list that you've tried probiotics too and that is just so routine that you didn't think to mention it.. yep he has been getting them regularly, not constantly, since 6 months Some people have good luck with different forms of magnesium than others, so that might be another thought. We tried a few... What foods did you eliminate when you did your elimination diet? And what foods did you replace them with? wheat, corn, soy, rice, dairy, okra, chicken, ham, almonds, peanuts, ummm sunflower eventually, we also limited any known constipating foods. he tested ok for spelt, barley and oats and cultured raw dairy(with a direct sample) I baked a loooooot. At least we were ok with eggs! Have you tried aloe vera juice? We find that helps somewhat. My daughter won't drink ordinary aloe vera juice, even in juice, so we use 's aloe vera, which tastes just like water. i tried that with him because mil uses it, but he wouldn't drink it. *sigh* Enzymes? yep, regularly Plum juice? this child will not touch fruit or veggies for the last 2 years. He loved all orange foods as a baby - squash, carrots, pumpkin, pureed red lentils Lots and lots of water? In my experience, kids do not drink water at school or day care, so this might be an issue. AND...if they do drink water at school, it's probably chlorinated school water, right? The school also has well water Lots of people on this list have had negative experiences with Miralax, and I'm sure they'll chime in and tell you...did your kinesiology guy, by any chance, test him for reactions to Miralax? He didn't see any disturbance other than the yeast infection in his lymph system. When he was going through that testing, any thing else disruptive would have shown. I wasn't at the appointment, his dad took him. We haven't had any problems with it, in fact even at th full dose, he will miss days. He has an enlarged rectum. Good luck--hope this helps though I'm not sure it will as you seem to have tried everything! Bonnie Thanks! __________________________________________________________ You rock.
