Guest guest
Apparently it is in many products we use - i.e. toothpaste. My friend who is a phd in nutrition said it is in a ton of products. I was shocked. > > Never knew this before...Tylenol contains PEG???? > > > http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceutical/b2.1.monographs/CPS-% 20Monographs/CPS-%20(General%20Monographs-%20T)/TYLENOL.html > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Also checked out Advil (since I'm living on liqui-gels; 3 every 6 hours)...and naturally PEG is listed. Not all Advil products, but you absolutely must check labels. Ironically, I found that virtually all of the Airborne products, including most of the children's, contain PEG. The FDA is our worst enemy, I swear. My idea of "modern medicine" is quickly becoming a list my grandmother's tried and true remedies.moeflynn wrote: Apparently it is in many products we use - i.e. toothpaste. Guest guest
It is in toothpaste, Dr. Pepper, many toiletries etc. The chemical properties of why it is is used is to maintain dispersed particles in suspension. Wikipedia has a big write-up on its uses. > > > > > > Never knew this before...Tylenol contains PEG???? > > > > > > > > > http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceutical/b2.1.monographs/CPS-% > > 20Monographs/CPS-%20(General%20Monographs-%20T)/TYLENOL.html > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
It's true that various forms of PEG (differing molecular weights) are found in many, many products - some that we ingest and many topicals (like lotions and salves). However, I'm pretty sure that it is no longer in Dr. Pepper. . . > > > > > > > > Never knew this before...Tylenol contains PEG???? > > > > > > > > > > > > > http://www.rxmed.com/b.main/b2.pharmaceutical/b2.1.monographs/CPS-% > > > 20Monographs/CPS-%20(General%20Monographs-%20T)/TYLENOL.html > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! > Mobile. > > > Try it now. > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------ > > > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! > Mobile. Guest guest
Well, there are many other reasons not to drink Dr. Pepper! :-)Bonnie It's true that various forms of PEG (differing molecular weights) are found in many, many products - some that we ingest and many topicals (like lotions and salves). Guest guest
I wanted to add that tylenol/most pain relievers are constipating also and greatly affect the liver(aloe is good pain reliever). Soda's, some have flouride(also the toothpaste) and this is a neuro toxin. Our scalp is very poris and absorb a lot and I get very nervous about the peg's and many other ingredients in the hair products ie. shampoo, gels, etc. We should go as organic as possible!! Our closest organic grocer is 200 miles away! We are such a toxic country. This is probably why the amish are so healthy, they from what I understand are organic!
