Unfortunate news for 1974 batchmate

Today I received some shocking news. My batch mate Dr. Maya Band (now Dr.

Maya Sapkal) was diagnosed with Colo-rectal carcinoma and has undergone

extensive Pelvic Extenteration operation at the Jehangir hospital in Pune.

Her uterus was also involved and 11 of the 14 removed lymph nodes tested

positive for metastasis. She is at present with a colostomy.

She is at present stable and getting chemo as well as radio therapy.
