The great lie

The power of the great lie;

as if hustling for a stand

at the Conference

is not a tragedy,

here.

Such is the great lie.

I shout,

this carer,

all alone,

pack it up ,

shred your sad speech,

there is no balance

to be struck

between the

psycho-corporate manipulation of CFS

and the long-denied

person-centred treatment of ME.

The size of the great lie;

it just eats you up.

As she sits

slumps in such pain

that I,

in my poverty,

cannot even touch her,

I am thinking,

what if AfME

was not a part of Westcare,

what if the MEA

was not about an " opathy " ;

dare they,

even now,

combine

influence

and mount the

mother of all protests,

such is the pain we are in.

In the grip of the great lie.
