Somebody alerted me to Dr. Baraniuk's presentation

(@4.46.11); so I wrote to ask him whether he was still looking

forvolunteers, to see if I could help highlight the request. Dr

Ravindran whois working with Dr Baraniuk sent me the following.

-----------------WANTED VOLUNTEERS-----------------

Who can participate?

& Oslash; Women with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Multiple

ChemicalSensitivity, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Interstitial Cystitis

and otherrelated conditions.

& Oslash; Healthy women over 21 years old are also invited to participate.

What is the purpose? Determine the cause(s) of Chronic Fatigue

Syndrome by comparing the types ofproteins in the fluid around the

brain (cerebrospinal fluid) that arepresent in Chronic Fatigue

Syndrome but absent from healthy women. What is involved?

& Oslash; Participation includes a screening visit and an overnight

studyvisit.

& Oslash; Volunteers must be willing to have a lumbar puncture ( " spinal

tap " ).

& Oslash; The overnight study visit includes a 24-hour urine collection,

bloodtests, lumbar puncture, cheek swab to examine the genetics of

CFS, allergytests, pain sensitivity testing, and a questionnaire
