Guest guest
I have been having Cody go back to Prune juice 4-16 ounces a day (depending on the circumstances). Well actually, I am giving him Plum Juice now (per one of the group members recommendation). Prune juice has always been what I call "medicine" for his constipation and it has always worked for him, but I cannot back off not even for 1 day. I wanted the problem "fixed". I didn't want him to have to rely on the juice all his life. I also got worried that their might possibly be something wrong with his gi tract. That is how he ended up with a gi doctor and taking Miralax. I did not realize ( until I found this group) how common constipation is. After everything he has been through these past 2 1/2 months, taking prune or plum juice everyday for the rest of his life is REALLY no big deal. But, to answer your question: Can I ask what he has suggested as an alternative to Miralax - in caseothers here could benefit from the advice?..... Yes, he said to continue what I'm doing (prune/plum juice). He also began to talk to me about probiotics, I stopped him in his tracks and told him I was not interested at this time in giving him ANYTHING! I'm a little gun shy right now. I do pretty good in an immediate situation, it's the after shock that gets me. And, that is where I am right now ---in after shock. He said he undersood and that when I get over it to call him and he will tell me more. He said to at least give him Activa yogurt. I agreed. Deanna,Fort Worth, TexasMom to Cody age 10.
