Guest guest
Me again..........Just wondering if you could all share ways that your docs have suggested clean outs...other than miralax. Someone said MOM, I was wondering what else is out there and are there ways to flush everything out (toxins and stuck on stuff) as well as cleanse the digestive track. Not sure how this all works. And am looking for others experiences and advice. I feel that Halle (3.5 yr old daughter) needs to be cleaned out like the GI doc said. But I really don't feel comfortable with such a high dose of Miralax (or Miralax at all). Any comments and/or stories would be wonderful. Guest guest
I do not know how safe this is but Cody had to be cleaned out for a colonoscopy and after reacting to the Miralax, we were instructed to buy magnesium citrate at Walgreen's (less than $3.00). We got the grape. He has only used it that one time. It worked very well. I have no intentions of ever using it again unless nothing else will work and if it has been numerous days. It worked very fast. Considering it is a drug I really don't recommend it, unless it is just that urgent. Deanna, Fort Worth, TexasMom to Cody age 10. Diagnosed w/EE on 2/6/08. Also severe reaction to Miralax. More about clean outs..... Me again....... ...Just wondering if you could all share ways that your docs have suggested clean outs...other than miralax. Guest guest
Another option is Oxypowder (also has magnesium in it, but a different form). If you Google on Oxypowder you'll find it. Guest guest
Along the same line, we've been using OxyCleanse - it has magnesium peroxide and vitamin C. http://www.earthsbounty.com/product_categories/products/oxy-Cleanse/OxyCleanse.h\ tm I give DS (3.5 yrs, ~35lb) one capsule of OxyCleanse (173mg magnesium) and two to three Kirkman magnesium glycinate (50mg magnesium per capsule) currently. This is our " maintenance " for now. To get him through near impaction (impaction..?), I gave him (per day for several days) - 2 capsules of OxyCleanse, 1 or 2 senna plus stool softener tablets, and a ton of fluids - whatever I can get him to drink (drinking contests and/or two or three straws in water seems to inspire a lot of drinking, etc.) Once he got going (cleared out a bunch of firm stools (astounding amounts, really), I started on the " maintenance " mentioned above. He is now going almost daily (e.g., he's had a bm on 3 of the last 4 days, " knock-on-wood " ...I'm sure I'm jinxing us right now!...). Sometimes there still are some very dark and hard pieces of stool that come out with the more " normal " colored/texture stool. So I am guessing there's still some cleansing going on in his GI tract. hth, > > > Me again..........Just wondering if you could all share ways that your > > docs have suggested clean outs...other than miralax.
