Guest guest
It seems like it -- I have him on 10mg of K2 now. I was ignoring foods for awhile -- giving him Bora Bora bars for snack at school (almonds) and other higher oxalate foods. Then we went about a week with a pretty LOD (wasn't really trying -- just happened) and he complained that his legs ached and he had loose stools with some sticky specs (multi wipe!) for a day. Mind you growing pains would make sense now -- he's a very tall almost 6 year old. So.. BTW, for the last 3-6 months -- I had backed down on fish oil -- giving two CLO and only one Ultimate Omega a day. This week went back up to 4 fish oil (3-6-9 and UO) and he seems to be having some speech and cognitive gains. Also have done 2 sessions of LED detox (Cowden method) so it could be that. Guest guest
-- you need to balance A with D (and K) -- it's easy if you get high vitamin cod liver oil like green pastures. > > & gt; > > & gt; Hi all, > > & gt; & nbsp; > > & gt; I know in the past we have had discussions about using > magnesium > > for constipation and whether it & nbsp;can be toxic. & nbsp; As I have > posted in > > the past, my kids do well taking approx. 675mg /day (down from > > 875mg/day when they were solely on mag malate) - a mix of mag > malate > > and mag citrate now that they seem to be tolerating citrate > better. & nbsp; > > Well, here is the irony of the situation - my DAN ordered a > > Spectracell test on my daughter to look at exactly what was being > > utilized in the blood cell after 2 OAT tests came back saying she > was > > deficient in B6 and B12 (despite supplementing those). & nbsp; To our > > surprise, the Spectracell test revealed she was deficient in > > magnesium!!! & nbsp; My DAN's reasoning is that the magnesium is > staying in > > the gut and being used as an osmotic effect and is not getting > > absorbed. & nbsp; Thus, he wants to try her on Vit D to help the > magnesium > > absorb better. > > & gt; & nbsp; > > & gt; While I know every kid is different, I just thought I would > pass > > our experience with this on. > > & gt; & nbsp; > > & gt; V. > > & gt; > > >
Guest guest
Hi , Have you had your daughter checked for metal toxicity? One symptom/sign of mercury toxicity (perhaps other metals, also?) is the inability to properly absorb/utilize minerals such as magnesium. I believe the reason my son requires so much daily magnesium (about 400mg) is his mercury levels, which we are going to be addressing soon. > > & gt; > > >
