If there isn't any problems, then no, it's not a problem. Some people go every 5 days all their life, if it isn't causing any harm then it might be the way their body works. Is it causing any problems? Jeanie amandastengel wrote: Anyone have any experience with a regimine of liquid colace combined with miralax??? any pros and cons to offer? guess....I'm new to this group but my son has had chronic constipation since he was 9 months old (he just turned 4) I'm still getting no where....i've been through 4 pedatricians ....no one seems to think going once every 5-7 days (on a good week) is a problem!?!? Any and all advice is appreciated!

To be honest we are so new to exploring all of his "behaviors" and other medical issues that I'm still not sure what issues are related and which are seperate from one another..he's 4 and not yet potty trained due to the constipation, the anxiety and the pain it causes....he hangs, lays, and presses on his belly A LOT...i assume thats to soothe some kind of discomfort. what other kind of "problems" do you mean? just so that i can try to begin to connect some dots.

well I guess I'm trying to see if it's causing discomfort in which it seems to be, when my dd was constipated for three years, she never had the anxiety like miralax did to her and she still has it from that day forward. Miralax causes tons of gas, which could be why he keeps touching his stomach, my dd still has the gas, and we've been waiting for it to calm down now for years. I myself think it did something and I'm giving probiotics to try to see if indeed it's the bacteria issue or what the miralax did. She holds the gas and needs to be prompted at 11 years old. Not Autistic child. I wouldn't recommend miralax for my dog or any creature for that matter. The problems one encounters with miralax far outweigh the problems of constipation, constipation can be reversed, miralax cannot. They aren't even aware of the problems it's causing thus far. There is no research on what this chemical does to the body thererfore they are overstepping their boundaries stating it's

safe.
