Guest guest
Hi Iris, The Creole spoken in Mauritius might be similar to the Creole you’ve heard, I’m not too sure. I know that the Creole spoken in Haiti is very similar to what is spoken here – we can understand it, amazing really considering how far apart both languages evolved – and considering that we can’t understand the Creole spoken in Reunion Island (20 minutes flight away!) So if it’s similar to Haitian Creole then yes, it must be similar to the Creole spoken here. I’m thinking of you today and hoping your tooth removal wont be too painful. I had to laugh at your tiling story and when you said that you realized why labor was so expensive. In June we decided to repaint some old Rattan (woven?) furniture that my MIL had given us, I was soooo enthusiastic, went out and bought paint and brushes, I was really motivated. My husband was like “mmmm not! I think we need to get someone to do this” but nothing could stop me ;-), I was on a roll! I basically didn’t give the poor guy a chance, kept on about how easy it would be and how fun!... It was a NIGHTMARE! It took us weeks, we did it at night after work and fought most of the way through, it took forever as you need to get it in between the woven bits, there are little holes everywhere. We were continually full of paint and got paint everywhere LOL! I kept saying over and over how I had this amazing newfound respect for people who paint for a living, what a horrible job. I’ll never moan about the price of labor for a paint job again – I feel so sorry for painters! After we had finished I kept saying to my husband it was impossible for it to be that hard, there had to be another way – that’s when I realized they must SPRAY-paint Rattan furniture!!! I wanted to cry when I realized how stupid I’d been but it was way too late! LOL! Your painting room sounds like a wonderful idea, I’m sure it would cheer you up a lot to be able to be creative again. I’m praying that this operation on your knee gives you a bit more freedom. I hope you have a great weekend! Hugs, Heidi _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
