Guest guest
I'm not sure about peanut butter, but bananas are terribly constipating to all three of my girls. They are the most obvious factor I've been able to identify. (Me, however, they don't affect at all. I could eat 2-3/day and still go 2-3 times!) Guest guest
Bananas as we eat them in the western world, tend to constipate, and that is because we eat them too soon, before they are fully ripe! Bananas in a lot of other parts of the world, are felt to help your system go, and they are not constipating, because they tend to eat them after they are fully yellow, and just beginning to get the spots on them. In our society, we tend to eat them after they've just gone green, and are just newly yellow. At this stage, the sugars haven't converted, and so yes, they are constipating. But banana's that are fully ripe (i.e. yellowed and beginning to get a few brown spots) are more towards a laxative effect, or enhance regularity.
