I agree! We've been told at the hospital i'm working at in KC that no one will get a leave at that time and that all adm. people will be on hand (just in case), they're dusting off the fetoscopes just in case Watch Child won't turn over (altho' it's supposed to be Y2K compliant) and we already have a dozen inductions scheduled! Doesn't sound like a fun night to have to work but as the newbie, I'll probably have to! Cheryl
Guest guest
Most of our equipment is fairly new, and has been found to be Y2K compliant. To be on the safe side we are staffing heavily on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, and management and administration are working 7p-7a the 31st (won't that be a sight to see!!!) The only thing they have found to not work correctly is our security doors, which are ID card coded. Many of us have to get our ID's recoded for the door. Since all the doors and entrances to our unit run off the same systems, we have decided to put someone at one door around midnight to " prop " it until we can be sure we aren't locked in for the millenium!!!
