Guest guest
Hi Betty, Nice to have you on our cruise ship. From my reading, I'd say you live in a very beautiful part of the country. I remember reading the " Misty " books when I was a kid, as did my daughter who is now grown, has a 2-year old, and is expecting Triplets in February. You'll find some very caring, understanding people here, and it really is a SUPPORT group, in every sense of the word. My best suggestion is to keep a positive outlook--sometimes hard to do when your fingers won't bend, and you're in pain--but it helps. Have a wonderful, pain-free weekend, Judi in Indiana

Guest guest
Welcome, Betty! I'm glad you decided to introduce yourself. I hope you can soon get to feeling somewhat better. What RA meds are you on? Do you have a rheumatologist? [ ] The " new kid on the block " > Hi to you all - I called myself the " new kid on the block " ONLY because I'm new > to the group! Guest guest
Welcome to the group family. This is the place where you will get alot of support as someone at any given time will have been through exactly what you are going through at the moment.. And all of us empathize because we are faced with our own battles with pain and fatigue and frustration with doctors and insurance companies and not enough money so we can be there for you when you need us. And in time, you will be there for us, too. It works that way. I'm also probably the next grandma under you (though really, I'm Meemaw) Welcome to the group that is really more like family. Will look forward to seeing your posts. Jan in CA +/:=) emcandrew@... wrote:Hi to you all - I called myself the " new kid on the block " ONLY because I'm new to the group! Two of them live nearby on the Eastern Shore of Virginia not far from Chincoteague where the wild pony called " Misty " in the famous children's book came from. Unfortunately, there are no support groups here in my area for RA so was glad to hear of your group. I had no idea this disease was so bad until I got it myself. I've gone through (and still feel the same at times) that my life is over and that I'm no longer living, just existing to pay out what I get from social security to drug companies. When I read some of your stories some of you so very young I feel somewhat guilty feeling as I do. I've had my share if illness - ovarian cancer 15 years ago from which I'm now considered " cured " but wonder if the meds I must take will bring it back somewhere else. Only time will tell I guess. I want to thank you all for passing on your experiences and thoughts on this miserable disease. It does help to know you're not alone in the fight! Guest guest
Hi Betty, Welcome to our group. I live in PA, but I am familiar with the eastern locations that you mentioned. I used to work summers in Ocean City, MD. It is a lovely area. You have no reason to feel guilty. Just because you are a little older than some of us, doesn't mean that you don't have a life to live also. We all get mad when our lives are taken from us a little at a time. It just showes that you will fit right in with the rest of us. I am happy that you found us. Love and Hugs Stacey in PA
