Guest guest
Hi to you all - I called myself the " new kid on the block " ONLY because I'm new to the group! Believe me, I'm no " kid " - in fact I'm 72 but sometimes feel 102 these days. I wrote back to Iris who replied to my e-mail telling me how this group works. Thanks Iris! You asked me to tell something about myself. Well, aside from being the " group Grandmother " , I live alone but have three sons, ages 39, 47 and 53 - all great guys! Two of them live nearby on the Eastern Shore of Virginia not far from Chincoteague where the wild pony called " Misty " in the famous children's book came from. Unfortunately, there are no support groups here in my area for RA so was glad to hear of your group. I had no idea this disease was so bad until I got it myself. I've gone through (and still feel the same at times) that my life is over and that I'm no longer living, just existing to pay out what I get from social security to drug companies. When I read some of your stories some of you so very young I feel somewhat guilty feeling as I do. I've had my share if illness - ovarian cancer 15 years ago from which I'm now considered " cured " but wonder if the meds I must take will bring it back somewhere else. Only time will tell I guess. I want to thank you all for passing on your experiences and thoughts on this miserable disease. It does help to know you're not alone in the fight! Sincerely, Betty _____________________________________ Webmail services provided by ICNet, A Part of Delmarva Online http://www.intercom.net http://www.dmv.com
