Guest guest
Welcome Betty. Your son lives in a beautiful area. I¹ve camped in Chincoteague several times. Years ago they let you camp right on the beach and I have fond memories of the pony roundups. If you¹re tolerating the mtx by drinking it in the orange juice, can you continue to take it that way or does the doctor think you'll do better on the injections? I was on the injections with no problems after the pills also made me sick. Ibuprofen doesn't do much for severe back pain. Have you discussed any pain medicine with your doctor. If you're in a lot of pain, it should be treated just as the RA is treated. As far as mtx being for life, it could be. It will be for as long as it works. Sometimes we build up a tolerance for a drug after being on it for several years and we need to change meds. Other times they will add another drug to the mtx to try to get a better result. We're all different as far as the way we respond to medications. Here is some info on mtx: http://rheumatoid.arthritis.freehosting.net/drugs.html#mtx I hope you continue to feel better with the mtx. a
