Guest guest
hi i came across this wonderful webpage and VIdeo on DR Hakaru Hashimoto that is on the Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine. In english it describes his life including the fact that yes, he did discover the autoimmune disease Hashimoto's in Japanese people on the island of Japan. he wrote an article in 1912 describing this discovery . (his subjects were 4 Japanese women with the particular struma etc) and he published the article with a publisher in Germany. (that is why folks on forums keep saying erroneously that dr didn't make the discovery of Hashis *in Japan*) yes japanese people in 1900 ate a high iodine diet And japanese people get hashis. http://www.med.osaka-u.ac.jp/pub/labo/www/VTR/Hashi.html anyway, the video is really moving, as you get to hear about his whole life,, including how he discovered Hashis in Japan and how he later became a " country " dr.. he sounds like a dr we would all love to have -Carol
