Guest guest
Try www.medscape.com . They have lots of information, or even Web MD had generic information for the patients. All she has to do is type the name of the drug into a search engine and she will get lots of info. Hope this helps Sunny (Mitzi)
Guest guest
I think RXlist is pretty comprehensive. Should be www.rxlist.com ? --------Jeanine [OBnurses] drug question My daughter is in hre 4th week of LVN school and is making her "drug cards". Does anyone know of a good "online" site that will give her the info she needs? I'm going to go by my hospital later (I'm off for 4 wks post gall bladder surgery) and see if I can borrow an old PDR. thanks in advance, Welcome to the OBnurses list! You have the freedom to change your membership settings at any time you choose. Guest guest
Hi, I don't know of any web sites, but I remember using pre-made med cards. I searched my attic and found them. They are called NURSE'S MED DECK. It is a box of cards --each card has generic and trade name, classifications, indications, actions, pharmacokinetics, contraindications and precautions, adverse/side reactions, interactions, route/dosage, nursing impications, potential nursing dx, pt/family teaching, and evaluation. I remember using these all the time. After researching my assignment, I would pull the appropriate cards and stick them in my uniform pocket--very convenient. I don't see any address or phone number on box. By F.A. Company--Judith Hopfer Deglin PharmD./April Vallerand R.N., M.S.N.. I hope this helps. Tell your daughter-Good Luck. - Casi - [OBnurses] drug question My daughter is in hre 4th week of LVN school and is making her "drug cards". Guest guest
Casi~ pre-made med cards. NURSE'S MED DECK. WOW...these sound great....anyone know where we can pick these up? We live in a small town so if I can get them online it would be better. But I can drive to a larger bookstore if need be!
Guest guest
, you could try a Life Uniform place if you have one by you--they could have something like those cards, or order it for you. Or try Tafford or Jasco--they should have online sites, and their catalogs often have drug reference cards shown (though of course I dug out my last 1 of each and couldn't find it). --------Jeanine Re: [OBnurses] drug question Casi~ pre-made med cards.
