Guest guest
it was the pollution that was leading to both or neither. As soon as I moved away, I just have moderate-severe asthma. The pollution was making it where no inhaler would get rid of the constant rattle in my upper lung. Now I can do inhalers and get rid of that...even when I have a cold. Actually mucinex has been my best friend there. The lung specialist I was going to said if I did not change life style..(move) I would be on an oxygen thingey in 10 years. That was 15 years ago. He said the pollution was killing me...I worked outside. I had worked outside most of the 25 years in the Phoenix area. My job consisted of moderate exercise on the job in the polluted air. I wish I could help....even the inhalers that I was doing four times a day did not totally ease the symptoms. I did not move because of health....I moved for other reasons, and it was after I moved that I realized what a bad situation it is for any asthmatic to be living in all that pollution! It is unlike other pollutions because of the inversion in the winter...the ozone is totally out of control as well. I am sure that there are other big cities who have pollution...but it is that Arizona hot air inversion on top of cold dirty air that is really bad for lungs. Emphezema would be something that I would have to deal with had I stayed there.......I am glad I got out. I have two kids there, and when I visit them I notice immediately the breathing problems. I keep thinking that eventually I want to move back there, like in Apache Junction, because I really do not like cold...I liked the 110 plus heat, but I remember the problems I had, and I think twice about that little fantasy in my head. This desert rat has asthma, so has to think about that one! love, Cindi Mendez wrote: Yeah, I am completely miserable during the winter. Absolutely miserablem, and tomorrow is another bad air day. Guest guest
If you work in an office why can't you cover your nose and mouth like I do in the winter to prevent the bad air stuff from entering your lungs? If people look as you foolish so what! This is why I am so glad I work from home! Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. Guest guest
unfortunately from past experience, dr's notes are ok, but then they start finding other reasons to let you go. It is hard to fight those kind of things.....it takes you to lawyers, the employment people, and is really stressful on top of asthma. I have been let go once in my past because of what I knew to be my health, even with doctor's notes, but they found "other" reasons to let me go. Depending on the state you live in.....Arizona is a state where an employer can terminate with reason. Every state has different laws....Arizona is pretty sucky when it comes to employee rights. Guest guest
LOL! That would be a good idea, especially since I work in a glass cubicle. It would crack people up. However, my job requires talking a lot, and I mean a lot, and people would get irritated. Has anyone found a face mask that ties on instead of rubber bands. I am curly hair and somehow my hair gets all tangled up in them. ..location Hi ...somehow I missed what part of Arizona you live in?
