Guest guest
According to him it is always there. It even hurts to touch his chest, worse when he is in a major flare...usually hospitalized by then. And yes the coughing makes it much worse. That's why he basically lays very still and does not take deep breaths. Of course we all know if he isn't breathing deeply he is setting himself up for another infection and so and and so on...the cycle just continues on. Guest guest
I commend him for looking out for his family. but just like me, rest is more of what he needs right now. He's not letting him body catch up! Sore to the touch, sounds like a muscle spasm to me, GERD is not sore to the touch. I know all too well about Barretts Esophagus! Not a fun thing to deal with. I have my yearly scope August 25th. I don't like the test due to what I went through as a child and have extreme anxiety about it and sedation no longer works on me so they take me into the OR to put me under to scope me now. My nerves are shot, but I try to laugh it all off. I joke with the nurses about cocktail hour, if you can laugh the stress off it'll just wear you down even more! Terry I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much. ~Mother Teddy Bear's Early Learning ProgramEstablished August of 1992 From: asthma [mailto:asthma ] On Behalf Of thomaszoo8@...Sent: Friday, August 01, 2008 11:40 AMTo: asthma Subject: Re: Re: Chest Pain Oh yes he has major reflux. That was another component of the big doc appointment the other day. We're going back to the GI for another endoscopy to see if there is more damage. He already has Barrettes Esopugus which is pre-cancerous erosion. He's in terrible shape but he still goes to work every day, worried about supporting his family. I have tried to get him to take some time off, he could certainly go on disability but it's so hard for him.Rhonda~-------------- Original message ----------------------From: "lilli_nyc" <lilli_nyc>> Rhonda> > I am sorry he is going thorough this, and you too. Guest guest
Yes...he is on xopenex nebulizer treatments and after the last ICU visit his doctor set him up with home oxygen. He has a compressor and a back up canister. He also has a repeat sleep study next week to qualify for home bi-pap...the c-pap just isn't cutting it. Guest guest
LOL!! Yeah...he will be 52 in September. This is a man who was basically pretty healthy until he hit his 50th. Never saw doctors for anything other than a couple of shoulder surgeries and a bad knee. He did smoke for nearly 30 years so he knows he set hisself up for this. You just can't tempt fate for that long and not have some consequences. He didn't have any major health issues until a week after his knee surgery in January...it's all been downhill since then. All the doctors say this has absolutely nothing to do with the surgery but I don't see how they can say that since they have no idea why he is so sick. Quite frankly I am just sick of dealing with doctors right now. Grr. Rhonda~ --------- Re: Chest Pain > > > > > > > > > > > > Rhonda > > > > > > I am sorry he is going thorough this, and you too.
