Hi Carol!

I also have a bit of a dry skin problem but the humidity here is high most

of the year so it’s not too much of an issue. I’ve found the best thing for

keeping my skin moist is Baby Oil, it’s my secret weapon! I use it for so

many things that it would be the one thing I’d take to a deserted island

LOL! I’ve found it replaces so many more expensive products I used to buy

and works so much better.

Here are my Baby Oil secrets – try them, it’s brilliant stuff (I hope its

called Baby Oil there – I’m sure there must be ’s Baby Oil though)

1. Body Moisturizing – Slather it on to wet skin when you get out of the

bath or shower – start with smaller quantities I use about a dime? sized

amount for each limb. Then just towel dry yourself normally. It’s much

easier and quicker to apply than moisturizing cream and it won’t be greasy

if you haven’t used too much. The secret is to put it onto wet skin BEFORE

you towel off. I have a smaller bottle that I spray a bit of my favorite

perfume into and shake – voila! Instant scented moisturizer – fragrance

veiling at it’s best!

2. Make up remover – this for me was the best discovery – it’s the best make

up remover you can buy – it takes everything off really gently. Just

slather a bit onto your face (more than you’d use for moisturizing and not

on a wet face) and rub your face and eyes gently. Once the make up has

dissolved I wipe it off with a moist sponge or face cloth (I’ve got those

little round face sponges that look like sea sponge) and then I use the same

sponge to wash my face with a really creamy face soap (I just use Dove Soap

?? don’t know if you’ll have that there but its great and very inexpensive).

This takes the oil off your face and cleans your face and the sponge till

next time.

3. Shaving cream! – I’ve converted Jules, just slather (lots more than when

moisturizing) it onto wet skin and shave! Jules has a thick beard and he

doesn’t even use shaving cream anymore, he cut’s himself far less. I must

say that this is a recent discovery and when I tried to shave with it I got

my usual rash so I haven’t tried it again but I have really sensitive skin

and prefer to wax.

4. Calms shaving rash – But! When I have shaving rash under my arms or on

my bikini line (I always get a rash), lately I’ve been adding those areas to

my moisturizing routine after showering but putting a bit more (on to wet

skin) and I’ve found that it soothes the rash and clears it up quickly.

5. Hair tamer – I have very dry hair that tends to fluffiness (especially in

this humidity(and it’s a bit curly) sometimes I just pat a tiny bit onto my

hair to tame the stray fluffy hairs. It gives the same effect as those

clear liquid silicone gels (but don’t use too much it will be oily)

6. Massage Oil – It’s a great massage oil because it washes or towels off

easily and is not too oily. I just mix a bit of essential oil in a bottle

and presto! It’s great to add to footbaths too mixed with peppermint oil or

something.

Gosh I could do an infomercial for Baby Oil! I must be the most

enthusiastic Baby Oil advocate around LOL! Let me know if you try anything.

I hope this didn’t bore anyone to death!

Hugs,

Heidi

Hi Heidi,

What great uses for baby oil! I used to use it each time I got out of the

shower, too, and I don't know why I got away from it. I'm using shea butter

on my feet, and that's helped tremendously, but I am going to get some baby

oil the next time I'm out and try some of your many uses. I saved the

email, so I can refer to it often.

Thanks!

Sending love and ((((((((((((bunches of hugs))))))))),

Carol

Heidi,

Thanks for your baby oil tips. I use it for a moisturizer, but never though

about using it for shaving and avoiding the bikini rash. Don't worry about

boring anyone. That's why we have a delete button!

Here are some more natural skin care ideas, which by the way includes baby

oil as a moisturizer!

I hope you have a great weekend.
