This GROUPLY thing is wide spread across the net and it is especially prevalent

in groups. There have been numerous web instructions about this so only

haphazard moderators should be the only ones who do not know about this most

recent episode of atttacks.

When one joins Grouply they ask for your logins and passwords to facliitate the

program organizing your groups for easier access.

Once they have your passwords and logins you lose the use of your computer as

they take it over remotely.

If you are a person like me that repairs computers you probably have a secure

firewall that would at least alert you to the activity so that you can block it.

The average user just gets hijacked. If you are a highspeed user you might

notice that your machine has slowed down a bit.

This is because they are using part of your bandwidth do what they want.

Thank-you so much for writing about this.  I never joined the group, which I'm

so thankful for.  I have a secure firewall plus I do the updates every single

day.  I have the automatic scan that goes through everything.  Everything is all

good. 

 

How do these people get into the CF group with this invitation to join their

group?  Are they just pulling names off our list?
