Guest guest
, I don't drive for reasons other than my RA, so I bike everywhere I go. My rheumy says it is one of the best things I can do for the legs and feet. It keeps them moving, is low impact, and I can set the 10-speed to an easier setting if the one I'm on is too much. I also have a stationary bike that I can use on days when I don't feel steady enough to go very far. Because I bike to work (when I'm not recovering from back surgery (LOL)) at about 7:00 in the morning, I am ussualy unstiffenend by the time I get there. It's only about 1 mile, so it doesn't take much. I happen to have a bowflex at home that my hubby bought, and I do VERY light upper body workouts with that. WHen my hands hurt too much, I use the wrist straps to pull the weights. I don't do as much with that, but some days, just folding a load of clothes is a good low-impact workout! Hope this is helpful. Jeanine
