Welcome Miaja,

Loss of libido - I think I could write a book if I had the energy! lol

I'd just rather sleep! even though I have a very cute and sexy husband for almost 17 years! I'm currently taking 10mg of DHEA, 3 grains of Armour and 9 tablets a day of Wobenzym N in effort to feel better, lose weight and get any intrest back!

Introduction

Hello everyone!I've been wanting to post my intro, but I've had company here until today. So, here it goes!I am a 32 year old female, I live in Northern California (hello !) I am married and have 2 kids. I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's this summer. After being tested for 4 or 5 years and showing a "normal" thyroid, I finally received an antibody test from my Gynocologist (of all people!). I think I'm still in mourning for all of the years I lost due to lack of diagnosis! I felt like a fool telling my Dr. over & over again, "I think I have a Thyroid problem". Now I feel like a fool for not investigating further!I have a long list of symptoms, but my "worst" are fatigue, weight gain (about 15 lbs), being cold 24/7, and loss of libido. The last one I could do without, but my marriage couldn't! LOL. People don't talk much about the loss of libido. Is it embarrassment or am I the only one who lost it?I am currently taking 75mcg Levoxyl, with no symptom relief at all. I go in for blood work & the endo in 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping to try a T3. I'm also taking Well Butrin. I think it is helping my mood swings, it is "supposed" to help with libido and it can help with weight loss, but not so far.I'm wanting to try a high protein, low carb diet. Is there anyone who has had success with it?As far as careers go, I currently have 2. I do daycare in my home 3 days a week for 3 children and I just opened my own web store selling children's natural (Waldorf) toys. The web store has been a HUGE success for Christmas (I just opened Nov. 1st), but business has died down for now. So, since I work for myself, I don't have any employment issues. Well, I think I've rambled long enough (for now). I really like this group and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!Take care,Miaja**

Welcome, Miaja, and Tony!

Miaja, if you don't mind my asking, where in northern California do

you live?

What's kind of interesting is I just returned from visiting my folks

in Pennsylvania for about a week -- and there I was finally regular

(no constipation or diarrhea) again -- after almost of year of have

IBS-type problems. I come back to San Francisco and the problems are

back. Makes me wonder is it an environmental thing or was it just the

" safe and secure " mind-body connection of being in my parents' home

that made me feel better? Anyone else ever experience change in

symptoms based on locale?

I'm in Petaluma, not far at all! In fact, my husband works in the city.

Interesting that you say that about the environment. I don't have any IBS issues, but my best friend does AND she lives in SF. Hmmmm.

Take care,

Miaja**

Welcome, Suzanne! Where in PA are you?

Maybe I should start drinking bottled water, Miaja! My problems

actually started when I lived in Palo Alto, I just moved up here a few

months back. One environmental influence there I know didn't help was

a heater that leaked carbon monoxide! They said it wasn't enough to be

dangerous, but I'm sure any amount isn't good!!

My gynecologist told me that they are doing studies to find out where

in the U.S. are the highest concentrations of thyroid disease...

haven't read anything about this research though.

Hi I am new. My name is Leigh I am 29 from UK. I was only diagnosed last week

after finally seeing a doctor with a brain! Everything was blamed on my

recurring tonsillitis for so long, then after I developed pleurisy we blamed

that, then they took my tonsils out and they blamed post op recovery...... Have

had to fight not to be fobbed off or labelled as a hypochondriac! When I first

got the pleurisy one emergency doctor tried to convince me it was a pulled

muscle, but eventually after a trip to the ER after I went grey and scared dh we

got answers.

I am still finding my feet and learning my limits but as I have a 19 month old

toddler sometimes I end up so tired!

Any hints or tips? What do you know now that you wish you knew then?

Hi!

My name is Barbara. I am 57. I live in

PA. I have had asthma all my life. I also have loads of allergies.

I was really sick growing up, but things

became manageable as I got older.

I got allergy shots up until I was 21 and

then off and on through the years.

To make a long story short, 3 years ago I

got sick and nothing seemed to help. They found a mass in my lung, which after

a cancer scare turned out to be Aspergillus and developed into Bronchiectasis.

Does anyone have this along with their asthma?

I am looking for a better way to manage

my asthma, besides prednisone. Is anyone taking this every day?

I also take Vfend (antifungal), symbicort,

nasonex and ProAir.

Does anyone ever get a serum IGE blood

test run? If so what are your numbers?

I am sorry for so many questions. I am

trying to figure out if what I have now is allergic asthma or if I still have

ABPA (allergic bronchial pulmonary aspergillus).

Does Singulair work for anyone? I used to

be on it before I got really sick.

I’ve been out of work for 3 months

for this condition. I am scheduled to go back on the 20th.

I work at Home Depot. I am worried,

because it’s hard to breathe in there.

I am looking forward to getting to know

you and hope I can be of some help to someone also.

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Barbara

uggh sorry I read your profile, I haven't experienced anything like that. I do know that if you are not strong, Home Depot is not the place for you with respiratory issues.

Welcome Barbara. I do not have your specific conditions, but I do

have some lung damage on top of my asthma (I am considered severe

reactive), and I am pednizone dependent. I am currently on 60mg/day

and have all the side effects to prove it. Full blown Cushings

syndrome. Lots of fun. I have just started taking methotrexate, and

hopefully after taking that for a few weeks we will start bringing the

steroids down some. The goal is to get me to 10/mg/day.
