Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I had panic attacks when I was in college, and it was a terrible feeling. Very scary. I don't really have them now, but I did have one panic episode about a month ago. I remembered what it was and didn't give into it. Thank God I haven't had it again. I had changed my thyroid medicine and I think that was the cause. Much love, Carol [ ] Re: Panic attacks, and other anxiety disorders Hi All, Thanks to those who have responded about the panic attacks they experience. And for those who do not know what they are..God Bless You..They can be devastating and totally take over your life. I find it interesting that many who suffer from RA and related conditions, also have panic disorders, phobias, etc. And according to much I have read about these issues, it seems that panic attacks are more often than not, a direct result of prolonged stress..not the every day stress but ongoing and severe. I have heard from a few from our group and would like to know if there are more. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know. Thanks Joanne
Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I have experienced several full-blown panic attacks, and also have an 'anxiety disorder.' I am doing much better than in my younger years...panic/anxiety are AWFUL...I would much rather be depressed as you don't 'feel' so absolutely terrified & paralyzed. I've been on Klonopin since it first came out. Xanax put me on too much of a roller coaster...the Klonopin is more of a leveler. Of course Klonopin doesn't help fast enough with a panic attack. If you have any questions, just ask. Much Love... Tess
Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I too used to have panic attacts so badly when my children were growing up that my husband would have to take me to the ER, they would hook me up to a heart monitor, do all the tests for heart that there is, it always turned out to be a panic attact. It was an awful thing to go through. I was a total recluse, if I got into a crowd I panicked, I could not even go to the grocery store. I have not been bothered by it for several years thank God. I now hold a full time job and seem to be doing fine other then the pain from this dreaded disease, I am also on celexa for the depression, vioxx only when I have a bad flare day or days, then off again until needed, also I have the darvocet if I need it. I have been in a bad flare the past few days. Joy [ ] Re: Panic attacks, and other anxiety disorders Hi All, Thanks to those who have responded about the panic attacks they experience.
